A difference of opinion may exist on the treatment of superficial eye infections, namely, that, as tears remove the antibiotic very rapidly, for the first half hour drops must be instilled every few minutes (they have been instilled at intervals of one minute). In the complications of penicillin treatment epididymitis (mentioned by some authors and an important item in the treatment of gonorrhoea) has been omitted.
